How to edit a game to change the week, day, time or location

To move one game to a different week, day, time or location, open the game's menu on the division's 4 Create Schedule page, choose Edit Game, make your changes and click Update. Then click Calc & Save: nothing is saved until you do.

Edit a game

  1. Go to the "4 Create Schedule" page for the division.
  2. Scroll down to the game row.
  3. On the right side of the game row, click the blue chevron icon (two blue arrows pointing down) to open the game menu: Swap Teams, Edit Game and Delete Game.
  4. Select Edit Game. An edit section opens below the game row.
  5. Change the Week, Day, Time or Location, then click Update below the edit section.
  6. If there are no other changes to make, click Calc & Save at the top of the page.

What you'll see: after Update, the game's row shows its new week, day, time and location, but the change isn't saved yet. After Calc & Save: "The Schedule has been calculated, saved, and is shown below. You can now view this schedule on the Standings & Results page."

The edit section

  • Week lists weeks 1 to 40, without the weeks you've blocked. Day, Time and Location set when and where the game is played. If the new day, time and location don't match one of the division's time slots, Update adds them as a new time slot on 3 Time Slots.
  • Reschedule?: tick Yes and choose a reason, such as Rained Out, to keep the original game as a canceled game and add the game at its new week, day, time and location. The canceled game shows struck through.
  • Highlight Game?: tick Yes and choose a color to highlight the game's row.
  • Update applies your changes to the schedule on the page. Cancel only closes the edit section without changing anything; it doesn't cancel the game.

If the game menu is gray or missing

  • Locked game (the menu icon is gray): click the gold padlock in the game's row ("Locked, click to Unlock") to unlock it, then make your change. Click the padlock again to re-lock the game before you click Calc & Save.
  • Auto Resolve running: the page is locked while it runs. Wait for the run to finish, or click Cancel Auto Resolve.
  • The game has a score or another result, or it belongs to another division's schedule: it can't be changed on this page.
  • A canceled game offers only Reschedule Game, and its menu is gray once it has been rescheduled.

Good to know

  • If officials are assigned to the game, saving a new date, time or location moves their assignments with the game, and confirmed assignments go back to Pending. When Schedules > Officials Management > Configurations > Assignment Email is Yes, officials can see the change, marked "Game Change:", in the next day's Official Assignments email.
  • If the division's 1 Configuration > Communication > On Game Change is Yes and the schedule is visible, TeamSideline emails the change a few minutes after your last save.
