How to block a week in a schedule

You can block out a week in a schedule by using the Block A Week function on the Create Schedule page.

How to "Block a Week" for a New Schedule:

  • click the Block A Week button at the top of the Division "4 Create Schedule" page, 
  • select the week you want to block
  • Type in the Reason for the Block
  • From the Block Result drop down select "Push All Games Out One Week"
  • Click Add. You'll see "Block A Week added. To save this Schedule click the "Calc & Save" Button."

  • Click Calc & Save. The block isn't saved until you do.


    Note: Using this value will keep the integrity of things like the home & away switches between teams playing each other more than once, or the rotations of byes or double headers for odd team one game per week schedule scenarios.

How to "Block a Week" for a rainout or cancellation for a schedule already in progress:

  • click the Block A Week button at the top of the Division "4 Create Schedule" page, 
  • select the week you want to block
  • Type in the Reason for the Block
  • From the Block Result drop down select "Move Games To Additional Week At End of Schedule"
  • Click Add. You'll see "Block A Week added. To save this Schedule click the "Calc & Save" Button."
  • Click Calc & Save. The block isn't saved until you do.
    Note: Using this value will move the week to a new week after the last scheduled week of the schedule -- making it the new last week of the schedule.

Good to know

  • Which weeks you can block. The Week (Week Of) list leaves out weeks that are already blocked and weeks with a played game.
  • What each option moves. Push All Games Out One Week moves that week's games and every later game out one week. Move Games To Additional Week At End of Schedule moves only that week's games, to the first open week after the schedule ends.
  • Locked games move too. Both options move every game in the affected weeks, including locked games.
  • Deleting a block with the delete icon on the blocked week's row doesn't move games back. Move them by hand.
  • Auto Resolve. AI Auto Resolve never moves a game into a blocked week once the block is saved. Block A Week is grayed out while Auto Resolve runs.
  • Don't see the button? Block A Week needs the 4 Create Schedule Block Week permission. Ask an administrator to check your role.
