If anyone in your organization is still an admin with access to Manage Users, they can add you on Administration > Manage Users > Users. If no admin is left, or none can be reached, your organization's highest-ranking board officer emails support@teamsideline.com to authorize a new admin; TeamSideline Support verifies the request, adds the new admin under their own email address and never sends a password.
Applies to: Board officers and organization admins · All plans · Admin site (Manage Users)
Where: Administration > Manage Users > Users, or support@teamsideline.com when no admin is left
If another admin is still active
- Ask them to go to Administration > Manage Users > Users, click Add User and add you with the email address you'll sign in with.
- New admins start with every role your organization has, Administrator and Billing included; they can uncheck roles you don't need on your Roles tab.
- Go to Admin Sign In on your organization's website. If you don't know your password, click Forgot your password?; the reset link goes only to your own email address.
What you'll see: the first time you sign in, you're asked to accept the Admin Terms, and then you're on the admin site's Home page.
If no admin is left
- Your organization's highest-ranking board officer, such as the president, emails support@teamsideline.com. If your organization still has admins who can be reached, a current admin can send the request instead, or simply add the new admin as above.
- Include your organization's name and website address; the new admin's name and the email address they'll sign in with; the name and position of the person making the request; and proof that they can authorize it, such as board meeting minutes or a signed letter on your organization's letterhead that names the new admin.
- Support confirms the request. If your organization still has admins listed, Support first tries to reach them by email and phone.
- Support adds the new admin, and can remove the admins who left if you ask.
- The new admin signs in at Admin Sign In with Forgot your password?. Support doesn't send passwords and doesn't give anyone access to another person's admin account.
How long it takes depends on how quickly the authorization can be confirmed: a complete request from your board's top officer is the quickest, and trying to reach admins who are still listed takes longer. Board members of a parent or associated organization are added only with written or emailed consent from your organization's highest-ranking board member.
Once you have access
- Remove the admins who left, or reduce their roles, on Manage Users, as How to remove an admin or reduce their access explains. Removing an admin ends their access to your site only; their TeamSideline sign-in and any family account stay.
- Keep a Billing admin. Give a current admin the Billing role before you remove the last person who has it; Billing admins get TeamSideline's invoice emails.
- Hand over shared addresses. If an admin account uses a role address such as president@ on your organization's website domain, rename it and give the new person access as How to set up and hand over a role-based (shared) admin email account explains. That works only for addresses on your site's current domain; if your domain changed, addresses on the old domain no longer qualify.
- Change your Payrix financial administrator if the person who left managed your payment account. It's a separate process with its own paperwork: see Changing Your Organization's Financial Administrator or Owner (Payrix).
- Update your contact email. Check the Email Address under Communications > Configurations > Contact Us, which gets TeamSideline notices about your site.
- Check your domain. If your website uses your own domain name, make sure your organization can still get into the account where it's registered. If TeamSideline manages the domain for you, contact Support.

If it doesn't work
- Add User is grayed out, with "The (plan) plan supports a maximum of (number) administrators. Adding more users requires an upgraded plan." Remove an admin who left, then add the new one.
- "At least one remaining admin must have the Billing role." You're removing your only Billing admin. Give the Billing role to a current admin first.
- "Login failed. Please make sure your email address and password were entered correctly, and try again. Note: Passwords are case sensitive." on Admin Sign In: you haven't been added yet, or you were added under a different email address. Check with the admin who added you, or with Support.
- "You cannot login because your administrator has not assigned you any roles." You're an admin but have no roles that give access. An admin checks your Roles tab on Manage Users.
- The reset email doesn't arrive. Check your junk folder and that you're using the address you were added with. If you no longer get email at that address, ask to be added again with an address you use.
Good to know
- Each admin signs in with their own email address and password. Don't sign in with a departed person's account or password; get your own access instead.
- When an admin plans to leave, have them add their replacement first, give the replacement the Billing role, and then remove their own access (How to deactivate your own admin account) or ask another admin to remove them.
- Keep at least two admins so one person leaving doesn't lock your organization out.
