This articles details the steps on how to move a Team from one Division to another after the Schedule has already started and games have been played and scored.
- Identify the Teams and their Divisions to swap.
- Turn both impacted divisions' visibility off while you are working on the swap.
- Go to the 2 Teams Tab:
- Rename the team in Division A by adding * or another placeholder/symbol to the end of the team name. This team will be moved to the other division and will keep the roster intact. In the examples throughout this article, we will call this team Cubs.
- Add a new duplicate team to Division A with the original team name and mark this team as external so that their scores do not count towards the standings. This team will stay in the division for the games that have already been played. In the examples throughout this article, we will call this team Cubs (Placeholder).
- In Division B, add External Team(s) for opponents for any games already played in the "from" division. For examples moving forward, we will call the opponent team Bears.
- Go to 3 Time Slots Tab:
- In Division B, add Time Slot(s) for games already played in Division A if they do not exist already (Disable Auto-Assign if necessary).
- Go to Standings Tab:
- In Division A, copy the scores for games already played for the team being moved out. A screenshot works great as you'll need these scores later.
- Click the Edit Scores button. Remove the scores and change the game disposition to Not Played for all matchups for the team that is getting swapped out of the Division. Click Save.
- Go to 4 Create Schedule Tab:
- In Division A, update the team matchups so that each game includes the new team name that is not linked to the registration program and roster. For example, change Cubs to Cubs (Placeholder).
- Go to the Leagues & Divisions page:
- Click the arrows icon (reposition teams) to the right of the League name.
- Drag and drop the "from" (Cubs) team into Division B. Repeat for each team moving to a new division.
- Note: If the team name is grayed out, that means the Team is still part of the schedule. Review the Division A 4 Create Schedule page and make sure that the team has been replaced with the team not linked to any registrations.
- Go to 4 Create Schedule Tab:
- In Division B, add game(s) from Division A so they count on the standings for the newly added team.
- Go to the 2 Teams Tab:
- In Division B, edit the newly added team to remove the "*". Using previous examples, remove "Placeholder".
- Go to Standings Tab:
- In Division B, click the Edit Scores button and update the scores for the previous games. These are the scores you should have copied down or screenshotted. Click the Save button.
- Check that the Cubs team is not in the standings in Division A.
- Verify the win/loss record for the Bears team on the standings tab of Division B.
- Review schedule of new team by filtering the teams drop down by the team.
- Turn the visibility back on for the divisions.
