Your website shows a program's Enroll button only while the program is visible and its registration window is open: from the earliest Starts date among its offerings' Early Reg. Duration and Reg. Duration to the latest Ends date of their Reg. Duration and Late Reg. Duration. A full offering doesn't remove the button; families see it marked (FULL) or (WAITLIST) in the registration cart instead.
Applies to: Org admins and registrars · All plans · All registration programs, on legacy and Editor 2.0 websites
Where: Programs > Manage Programs (eye icon, Pgm Status, Reg Status); the program's 2 Configuration > Offerings > Edit (pencil icon)
How the Enroll button works
- The button belongs to the program, not to each offering. On a legacy website it shows on the Registration page, the home page and the program's More Info page. On an Editor 2.0 website it shows in the Programs widget.
- It shows while today is inside the program's registration window, which runs from the first offering to open to the last one to close. Early and late registration count. Volunteer Reg. dates don't: they give volunteers a Volunteer button instead.
- Clicking it opens the registration cart, which lists only the offerings whose own dates are open and that fit the participant chosen.
- If your organization changed the button's text (1 Setup > Enroll Button > Button Text), look for that text instead of Enroll.
Step 1: Check the program on Manage Programs
- Go to Programs > Manage Programs.
- Find the program and look at its eye icon (Toggle Visibility), its Pgm Status and its Reg Status.
- Match what you see to the table below.
| What you see | Why there's no Enroll button | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A red eye | The program is hidden, so it isn't on your website at all. | Click the eye so it turns green. |
| Reg Status: Not Open Yet | No offering's registration has started. On a legacy website the program is listed on the Upcoming Programs page, which has no Enroll button. | Wait for the first Starts date, or move it earlier (Step 2). |
| Reg Status: Closed | Every offering's registration has ended, late and volunteer dates included. | Move an offering's Reg. Duration Ends date, or its Late Reg. Duration Ends date, to a future date (Step 2). |
| Reg Status: Open, but your website shows only a Volunteer button | Only the Volunteer Reg. dates are open. They keep Reg Status at Open, but the Enroll button follows the participant dates only. A legacy website shows Open for Volunteers once those have ended. | If participants should still register, move the offering's Reg. Duration or Late Reg. Duration dates (Step 2). |
| Pgm Status: Closed, and the eye is grayed out | The program's Program Duration on 1 Setup has ended, so the program is no longer listed on your website. | If the program is still running, move Program Duration Ends on 1 Setup and click Save. |
On a legacy website's Registration page, each program also shows its Registration Status (Open, Open for Volunteers, Not Open Yet or Closed) and its Early Bird, Regular and Late Registration dates, unless Hide default program text is checked on 1 Setup.
Step 2: Set the offerings' registration dates
- On Programs > Manage Programs, open the program's More Options menu and choose 2 Configuration (2a Team Configuration in a Team Registration plus Roster program).
- Under Offerings, read each offering's Early Reg, Regular Reg and Late Reg dates to see which have ended or haven't started.
- Click the Edit icon (pencil) for an offering that should be open.
- In Reg. Duration, set Starts to the date and time registration should open (a time that has passed opens it now) and Ends to a future date and time. Times must be on the hour.
- If the offering has a Late Reg. Duration, check its Ends date too. Late registration runs from the Reg. Duration Ends date to that date, at the Late Reg. Fee. If you move Reg. Duration Ends past it, move it later as well, or clear both the Late Reg. Fee and the Late Reg. Duration.
- Click Save.
- Repeat for every offering that should be open. Each offering has its own dates.
What you'll see: "Program offering updated." The program's Reg Status on Manage Programs updates when you save (and on its own as the dates pass), and the Enroll button shows on your website while today is inside the program's registration window. In the cart, each offering is offered only during its own dates.
Tiered Pricing programs have no dates on their offerings. Their registration runs from the Start Date on the first row of Registration Pricing Tiers on 1 Setup to the End Date on the last row, so change the dates there.
If families click Enroll but can't register
- "There are no available offerings to enroll in for the enrollment type and program selected." No offering is open to the participant chosen: its own dates haven't started or have ended, its age, grade or gender restrictions leave the participant out, or every offering is full. Because the button follows the program's whole window, this also happens between two offerings' dates, when none of them is open.
- An offering or camp session shows (FULL) and can't be chosen. Its Max # of Enrollments is reached, and the program's Enable Waitlist (1 Setup) is No. Raise or clear the limit on the offering's Edit page or turn the waitlist on. With the waitlist on, it shows (WAITLIST) and families join the waitlist.
- "This program is full and not accepting additional enrollments at this time." The program's own Max # of Enrollments is reached and the waitlist is off.
For age and grade restrictions, Customer Access and the cart's other messages, see Why isn't my program showing to families? (Pgm Status, Reg Status and the visibility eye).
If it doesn't work
- "Please enter a "Late Registration Duration" date after the Regular Registration End Date." Reg. Duration Ends is now later than Late Reg. Duration Ends. Move Late Reg. Duration Ends later too, or clear both the Late Reg. Fee and the Late Reg. Duration.
- "End date must be after start date." The new Ends date is earlier than Starts. Change Starts too.
- "You cannot show this program because there are no Offerings configured." The eye stays red. Add an offering on 2 Configuration, then click the eye again.
- The eye is grayed out. The program's Pgm Status is Closed, or your admin role doesn't allow changing program visibility.
- The dates look right but there's still no button. Make sure you're looking at the right website and program, and open the page in a private (incognito) browser window. If it still doesn't show, contact TeamSideline Support with the program and offering names and your website's address.
Good to know
- Registration dates and times are in your organization's time zone, which TeamSideline Support sets. If registration opens or closes at the wrong hour, ask Support to check it.
- An Ends time of 12:00 AM closes registration as that day begins, so the Registration page shows the day before as the last day.
- A hidden program has no Enroll button, but families you send its Program Access link can still register. Admins can still register someone in a closed or full offering with Place Order on the customer's account.
- To close one offering early on purpose, change its dates or cap it with Max # of Enrollments. See How to close an offering before registration is over.
