A Crowdfunding campaign has one donation page that anyone with the link can give on. No program or players are involved: you create the campaign, it opens on its start date, and you share its link.
Applies to: Admins with the Administrator or Fundraiser role · Every current plan (Core, Enhanced, Elite and Enterprise), and legacy packages that include Player Registration, Team Registration or Facility Management · Organizations with a Payrix payment gateway
Where: Raise > Dashboard > Create Campaign
Before you start
Complete Raise > Configurations > General first, including your Payrix payment gateway, your default banner and your default thank-you message. See How to set up TeamSideline Raise.
Create it
- Go to Raise > Dashboard and click Create Campaign.
- Under Campaign type, choose Crowdfunding. Peer-to-Peer is selected when the page opens.
- Under Campaign basics, enter a Campaign name, Subtitle, Description and Goal amount. The Description takes up to 1,000 characters, but link previews on social media show only about the first 200, so put the most important words first.
- Check the Payment gateway. It starts as your Raise default; choose another Payrix gateway only to send this campaign's donations there.
- Set the Start date and End date. The campaign closes at 12:00 AM on the end date, in your organization's time zone, so pick the day after your last day of giving.
- Enter one email address in Copy to. It gets a notice of every donation.
- Leave Raise Campaign Active on to open the campaign on its start date, or turn it off to keep it as a draft.
- Under Donation tiers, click Add Tier, enter an Amount and an optional Tier Name, and click Add. Repeat for each tier. Keep amounts between $1 and $10,000, since donors can't give outside that range. The Allow custom donation amount switch is in the same panel and is on by default.
- Under Campaign branding, review the Campaign banner and the Thank-you message, which takes up to 1,000 characters. Both start from your Raise defaults.
- Under Donor options, set Allow anonymous donations and Show donor list.
- Click Create New Raise Campaign.
Example tiers:
| Amount | Tier Name |
|---|---|
| $25 | A game ball for one team |
| $50 | One team jersey |
| $100 | A full equipment set |
| $250 | A season scholarship for one player |
Tiers show on the donation page from lowest to highest, and the second-lowest is selected when the page opens. They're saved only when you click Create New Raise Campaign, so build the campaign in one browser tab.
What you'll see
"The Raise Campaign was successfully created." and the Raise Dashboard, which opens on its Active tab. A campaign whose start date hasn't arrived, or whose Raise Campaign Active switch is off, is under Draft.
Check it and share it
- On the Raise Dashboard, find the campaign under Active, or under Draft if it starts later.
- Once it's active, click the View Public Page icon and review the page as a donor would.
- Click Copy link on the page and share it by email, on social media and on your website.
If it doesn't work
- A red message under a field, such as "Goal amount is required." Every field with a red asterisk is required, including Subtitle, Copy to and Thank-you message. Fill it in and click Create New Raise Campaign again.
- "Amount field is required." The tier's Amount is blank or $0. Enter an amount above $0, then click Add.
- The Payment gateway list is empty. Your organization has no payment gateway in TeamSideline yet. Contact support@teamsideline.com to set up Payrix.
- The View Public Page icon is grayed out. The campaign isn't active yet: check the start date and the Raise Campaign Active switch.
- Donors see "This donation page is not available." on an active campaign. The payment gateway isn't a Payrix gateway that Raise can use. See Troubleshooting TeamSideline Raise.
Good to know
- The campaign type can't be changed once the campaign has been saved with Raise Campaign Active on, or once it has a donation.
- Campaigns can't be deleted. To close one early, turn off Raise Campaign Active or change the end date.
- To run a similar campaign later, use Copy Campaign on the Raise Dashboard. The copy keeps the original's settings, dates, tiers and banner, adds "(Copy)" to the name and has Raise Campaign Active on, so check the dates and the banner before you save.
