The campaigns that raise the most tell a specific story, suggest amounts tied to real items, and get shared more than once. Here's how to use Raise's settings to do that.
Before launch
- Pick the right type. Choose Crowdfunding when your community will give to one cause. Choose Peer-to-Peer when players and families will ask their own networks.
- Set a goal you can reach. Donors can see the progress bar, and a Goal met badge appears once you pass it.
- Lead with the subtitle. It's the first line under your campaign name, so make it the one-sentence reason to give.
- Keep the story short and concrete. You have 200 characters for the description. Say what the money buys and who it helps.
- Label every tier. "$50 – Team jersey" works better than "$50." The second-lowest tier is selected when the page opens, so make it the gift you most want.
- Use a strong banner. Upload a 1200 × 300 photo of your players or facility.
- Leave the donor list on. Seeing recent supporters encourages others to give. Leave anonymous giving on, too, for donors who prefer it.
- Set the end date carefully. Campaigns close at 12:00 AM on the end date, so pick the day after your last day of giving.
Peer-to-Peer campaigns
- Set a Default personal goal. It adds a progress bar to every player's page and a goal line to the invitation.
- Tell families it's coming. Let them know an invitation email with their player's link is on the way.
- Check the Raise P2P dashboard weekly. Sort by Goal % to find families who haven't started, and send them their link from View Donation Page.
During the campaign
- Share at launch, around the midpoint, and in the last few days.
- Post progress updates, such as "We're 75% of the way there!"
- Remind donors that the thank-you page has share buttons.
After the campaign
- Personalize the Thank-you message. Donors see it after they give and in their receipt.
- Once the campaign ends, review the Raise Donations dashboard and share the results with your community.
- Next season, start from Copy Campaign and update the dates.
