Raise sends email automatically. Every donor gets a receipt, your campaign's Copy to address gets a notice of each donation, and on Peer-to-Peer campaigns each player's family gets one invitation. You can resend a receipt from the Raise Donations dashboard.
| Subject | Sent to | When | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Donor receipt | Order Confirmation, followed by your email subject text | The email addresses on the donor's account, plus your Order Copy To addresses | Right after each donation |
| Donation notice | Donation Received: Thank you! Your gift receipt for [organization] | The campaign's Copy to address | Right after each donation |
| Resent receipt | Thank you! Your gift receipt for [organization] | The email address the donor entered | When you click Send Receipt |
| Player invitation | [Organization]: your fundraising page for [campaign] | The primary adult on the player's account | Once per player, after the campaign goes live |
Emails usually arrive within a few minutes. Players and families are never emailed when someone donates to their page.
What the donor receipt includes
The receipt is your standard Order Confirmation email, showing the order number, card payment, "Donation: [campaign name]," any processing fee, and the total. It adds a Donation Details section:
- Your thank-you message. It uses the campaign's message, then your default from Configurations, then "Thank you for your donation."
- Organization Name: your Legal Organization Name, if you entered one.
- Federal Tax ID / EIN: only for registered nonprofits that entered an EIN.
- Campaign, and the Participant for gifts through a player's page.
- Donor Name, and the Donor Message if the donor left one.
- For registered nonprofits: "[Legal name] is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law."
- On every receipt: "No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution."
The donation notice and the resent receipt carry the same Donation Details, plus the donation date and amount.
The Copy to address
- Each campaign's Copy to field takes one email address. A shared inbox, such as your treasurer's, works well.
- The notice is its own email, not a copy of the donor's message.
- If Copy to is ever blank, notices go to your organization's contact email.
Player invitations (Peer-to-Peer)
- TeamSideline checks for eligible players about every 5 minutes while the campaign is Active.
- The invitation goes to the primary adult on the player's account. The player and other adults on the account aren't emailed.
- Each player gets one invitation per campaign, and it isn't resent. To send a link again, copy it from the Raise P2P dashboard with View Donation Page.
- If the account has no email address, the invitation waits until one is added, as long as the campaign is still live.
- A player who transfers to a new registration gets a new page and a new invitation. The old link stops working.
The invitation reads, in part: "[Player] is taking part in [organization]'s [campaign] campaign and now has a personal fundraising page." It shows the player's goal if you set a Default personal goal, links to the page, and ends with "Share the link with friends and family. Anyone can give from the page, and no account is needed to donate."
What you can customize
The wording of Raise emails is fixed. You control what fills them in:
- The campaign's Thank-you message, and the default in Raise > Configurations > General.
- Your tax details, in Raise > Configurations > General.
- The campaign's Copy to address and Default personal goal.
- For the donor receipt: Order Copy To in Administration > Configurations > General, Subject Text and Banner Image in Communications > Configurations > Email, and Content > Checkout Instructions.
If an email didn't arrive
- Ask the recipient to check spam and junk folders.
- Check Communications > Communication Logs for the email.
- Addresses that have opted out of your organization's email don't receive Raise emails.
- Resend a donor's receipt from the Raise Donations dashboard with Send Receipt.
