To change your admin password, click your name at the top of the admin site, open the Password tab, and enter your current password and a new one. If you've forgotten it or you're locked out, use Forgot your password? on your organization's Admin Sign In page to get a reset link by email; you don't need TeamSideline Support for either.
Applies to: Organization admins (everyone who signs in at Admin Sign In) · All plans · Admin site on the web
Where: Your name at the top of the admin site > User Profile > Password (to change it), or Admin Sign In > Forgot your password? (to reset it)
Change your password
- Sign in at Admin Sign In on your organization's website.
- Click your name at the top of the admin site. Your User Profile opens on the General tab.
- Click the Password tab, or click Edit on the Password row.
- Type your current password in Current Password.
- Type your new password in New Password and again in Confirm New Password. It must be 6 to 15 characters, with at least one letter and one number, and can't contain <, > or &.
- Click Save.
What you'll see: a check mark next to Confirm New Password when the two entries match, then "Your password has been updated." after you save.
Reset a forgotten password
- Go to your organization's website and click Admin Sign In at the bottom of the page.
- On Welcome to Admin Sign In, click Forgot your password?.
- On Forgot Password, enter your admin email address in Email and click Submit.
- Open the Forgot Password email from TeamSideline and click its reset link right away. The link stops working 1 hour after you request it, even though the message on screen says 2 hours. If you asked more than once, use the newest email.
- On Reset Password, type your new password in Password and Confirm Password, and click Submit.
- Back on Admin Sign In, sign in with your email address and the new password.
What you'll see: after step 3, Admin Sign In shows "Thank you. If the email address you entered is associated with TeamSideline, an email with instructions on how to reset your password will be sent." It shows this whether or not the address has a TeamSideline login. After step 5, a message says your password was updated.
New admin? The admin who added you set a first password, unless you already had a TeamSideline login with that address, in which case your existing password usually still works. If you have neither, use the reset steps above to set your own. Adding admins is covered in How to add, edit or remove admin users (Manage Users).
If it doesn't work
- "Login failed. Please make sure your email address and password were entered correctly, and try again. Note: Passwords are case sensitive." The email address and password don't match, or that address isn't an admin of this organization. Check the Email box (it can be filled in with the last address used on this browser), type the password instead of pasting it, and make sure you're on the website of the organization you manage. If it still fails after a reset, your address isn't an admin there, for example because you were removed or were added under another address: ask one of that organization's admins to check Administration > Manage Users. Parents and players use Sign In, not Admin Sign In.
- "Too many sign in attempts. Click the "Forgot your password?" link below to reset your password." There were too many failed sign-ins with your email address in a short time, so sign-in is blocked for a while, even with the right password. Complete Forgot your password? through step 5, which ends the block at once, or wait and try again later. A new password that another admin or TeamSideline sets for you doesn't end the block.
- "You cannot login because your administrator has not assigned you any roles." You're an admin of this organization, but your roles don't give you access to any pages. Your password is fine. Ask another admin to check your roles: Administration > Manage Users > Users, edit icon, Roles tab.
- "Your account has not been activated." Your TeamSideline login was never activated. Find the "Activate Your Account" or "Validate your Email" email from TeamSideline (check junk folders), click its link, then sign in. A password reset doesn't activate a login. If you can't find the email, contact TeamSideline Support.
- "Your password is incorrect. Please try again." (Password tab) What you typed in Current Password isn't your current password. If you don't know it, sign out and use Forgot your password?.
- "The new password you typed is the same as your current password. Please type a new password." Choose a different password.
- "The passwords entered do not match. Please try again." Type the same new password in both boxes.
- "Your password must be at least 6 characters long and a maximum of 15 characters, contain at least one alpha character and one numeric character. It cannot contain the characters "<", ">", or "&"." Choose a password that follows these rules.
- "The password for this email address has been requested to be reset more than 5 times in the last 24 hours. Please wait a few hours and try again." Use the newest reset email you already have, or wait.
- "This password reset request has expired." The link is more than an hour old. Request a new one and use it right away.
- "This password reset request is invalid." That link was already used. Request a new one if you still need it.
- The reset email doesn't arrive. Check spam and junk folders, and make sure you entered the address you sign in with: an address with no TeamSideline login gets no email and no error. If it still doesn't come, ask another admin to look up your address on Communications > Email Filters. A filter there (a red flag) can stop TeamSideline emails to that address.
Good to know
- Your admin password is your TeamSideline password. The same email address and password work for every organization you manage, for signing in as a parent on any TeamSideline website, for team sites and for the TeamSideline app, so changing it in one place changes it everywhere.
- Each organization has its own Admin Sign In page. If you manage more than one organization, sign in on each organization's website.
- No one can look up your password: not your organization's other admins and not TeamSideline.
- If your admin address is on your organization's own website domain (for example, an address ending in @yourleague.org when your website is www.yourleague.org), another admin can reset your password on Administration > Manage Users > Users, edit icon, Reset Password. The new password appears on their screen; change it on your Password tab after you sign in. For any other address, use Forgot your password?.
- Reset requests are limited to 5 in 24 hours for each email address.
- TeamSideline Support never sends a password by email or in a support ticket, and never asks for yours. If you're stuck, Support can check why your sign-in fails, activate a login that was never activated, and send a reset link to the address on your account.
- If you no longer get email at your admin address, a reset link can't reach you. Ask another admin in your organization to add you with an address you use (Administration > Manage Users > Add User). If there's no other admin, contact TeamSideline Support.
